Installing and upgrading Notes on Windows for single user
Notes installation on Microsoft® Windows® is supported for single user or multi-user. When installing Notes in a single user environment using the Allclient installation kit, you can install or upgrade the IBM® Lotus® Domino® Designer and IBM® Lotus® Domino® Administrator clients.

Note Notes installation on Linux® and Mac OS X® is supported for multi-user install only.

Note Notes installation on Citrix® is supported for single user install and multi-user install.

IBM® Lotus® Notes® is available as an install kit. Notes can be installed in graphical mode, silent mode, and by using Smart Upgrade.

1. Shut down all applications.

2. Obtain the Notes installation kit.


3. Uninstall any Notes Beta installations.
4. Save the installation kit to a local folder, for example to your C:\temp folder.

5. Navigate to the folder in which you saved the installation kit.

6. Locate and run the SETUP.EXE installation executable.


7. Read the Welcome screen and click Next.

8. Read and accept the license agreement terms and click Next.

9. Enter your user name and organization, choose the "Single-user Install" setting and click Next.

10. Accept the default install directory or specify a different installation directory and click Next.

11. Select the features and sub-features to install and click Next.

12. Accept Notes as the default mail, calendar, and contacts programs, read the preview screen, and click Install.

13. When installation is complete, read the summary screen and click Finish to exit the installation wizard and start Notes.
