Products to install and order of installation
The following information lists the servers and products you need to install to use IBM® Lotus® Notes®.

Servers to install

1. IBM® Lotus® Domino® server.

2. (Optional) IBM® DB2® running with a Domino server. Required if you want to create and use DB2 enabled Notes databases.

3. (Optional) IBM® Lotus® Sametime® server. Required if you want awareness and chat in the Notes client.

4. (Optional) Lotus Connections server. Required if you want to use Activities/Connections within Notes. For information, see the Lotus Connections documentation.

5. (Optional) IBM® WebSphere® Portal server. Required if you want to use composite applications that contain portlets.


Note (Optional) Install WebSphere Portal composite application support for Notes, previously named "Notes server client installer" on the WebSphere Portal server. This is required in order to work with composite applications that contain portlets or to edit portlets using the Composite Application Editor.

Clients to install

1. Notes. This provides Mail, Calendar, Contacts, and options including IBM® Lotus® Symphony™, Composite Application Editor, Connections, and IBM® Lotus® Sametime® (integrated).


2. (Optional) Domino Administrator and Domino Designer.
