Using the Schema database to add an object class to the schema
You can use the IBM® Lotus® Domino® LDAP Schema database (SCHEMA.NSF) to add an object class to the schema.

1. Make sure you have Manager access to the Schema database.

2. Open the Schema database on any server in the domain that runs the LDAP service.

3. Select the All Schema Documents view, then click New Document - Add Object Class.

4. Complete these fields on the Basics tab:
FieldAction
LDAP nameEnter a name for the object class.
OIDEnter the object identifier.
Object Class TypeSelect the type of object class.
Superior Object Class(Optional) Select the object class that is immediately superior to this one in the object class structure.
Auxiliary Object Classes(Optional) If this is a structural object class, select each auxiliary object class to use with this object class.
Description(Optional) Enter a description for the object class.
Mandatory attributesSelect the attributes that are required to have values.

You can't remove mandatory attributes displayed that are inherited from a superior object class.

Optional AttributesSelect any attributes that may, but are not required to, have values.

You can't remove optional attributes displayed that are inherited from a superior object class.

5. Click Save & Close. A draft document for the new object class appears in the Draft Documents - Draft Object Classes view.

6. Complete the procedure "Approving draft schema documents in the Schema database."
