MONITORING

Administration probe
There is one administration probe subtype -- Automatic Report Closing. Use the Automatic Report Closing probe to close Event reports that have been open for a specified amount of time, and that are inactive during that time. On the Probe document, use the field "Number of days to remain open" to define how many days an inactive Event report can remain open before the event is automatically closed. You also specify the servers on which Event reports can be closed by the probe.

When an event is automatically closed, an entry is made to the event history indicating that the event's status was inactive and the Event report was closed. If the event reoccurs, the event is reopened.

An inactive Event report is tracking an error or issue that has not recently occurred, or one that is stale.
