MONITORING
POP3 activity logging
POP3 activity logging tracks such POP3 information as the name of the user, the IP address of the client, the number of bytes the client sends to and reads from the server, the number of messages sent to the client, the number of messages deleted from the client, and the duration of the session.
There are three types of activity logging records for POP3 activity:
Authorization records, which log when a user is authenticated and a session begins
Checkpoint records, which log activity that occurs when a POP3 session has been open for a specified length of time
Close records, which consolidate POP3 information into a single record when a POP3 session ends
If a session ends before authentication is complete, IBM® Lotus® Domino® generates only a Close record. The user name in this record is "Anonymous."
