USER AND SERVER CONFIGURATION

Creating a Lotus Traveler policy settings document
Use the Lotus Traveler policy settings document to define preferences for synchronizing IBM® Lotus® Domino® users' mail database data with their mobile handheld devices. You can synchronize Email, Calendar, To-Do, Address Book and Journal data. IBM push technology is used to deliver updates to the device as they occur in real-time.

You can also set logging levels for the mobile device, establish e-mail settings for truncating messages, limiting attachment size and specify the low battery threshold for the device.

1. Make sure that you have Editor access to the IBM® Lotus® Domino® Directory and one of these roles:

2. From the Domino Administrator, select the People & Groups tab, and then open the Settings view.

3. Click Add Settings, and then choose Lotus Traveler.

4. On the Basics tab, assign a name to the policy settings document and add a description.

5. Complete these fields on the Preferences - Sync tab:
FieldAction
Auto SyncSpecify whether automatic synchronization processing from server to device is on or off. Choose On or Off.
SynchronizeSpecify one of more PIM types to synchronize with the device: Email, Calendar, ToDo, Contacts, or Journal.

If the filter is not enabled, all emails are synchronized.

Specify a date range for past events and one for future events as described below.
  • Past Events -- Click to enable the filter for past events. Select the length of time, that is, how far into the past, calendar entries are to be synchronized. When the filter is not enabled, all past events will synchronize.
